6 month appt and pictures

Today was the girl's 6 month well baby exam. They are both doing great! They have been staying right in their own growth curve

Addison weighs 17lbs 1oz and is 24.5 inches in length

Length = between percentile 5 and 10
Weight = between percentile 50 and 75
Head Circumference = in percentile 25

Samantha weighs 15lbs 10oz and is 25 inches

Length = between percentile 10 and 25
Weight = between percentile 25 and 50
Head Circumference = in percentile 25

The doctor had some of their vaccines without preservatives, so we went ahead and did two today. Two is our limit per visit. I won't subject the girls to a ridiculous number of pokes. We are in no hurry to vaccinate. They aren't in daycare or anything. They just need to be caught up by kindergarten and that won't be a problem. I did the same thing with Joshua and it worked out great.

Both girls handled the shots better this time than last time. They cried for just a few seconds and were over it. We gave them extra cuddles this evening and all is well.

The doctor gave us the ok for teething biscuits and such. I was a bit shocked because I don't remember giving Josh baby biscuits this early. The girls are doing great with solid foods. Here is a list of what they've had so far. (by the way- I know most of you guys don't care about these types of details, I do this part mostly for my own records.)

Green beans
Sweet potatoes
Butternut Squash
Carrots
Apples
Bananas

We have been taking it slow with the solids but we are going to pick it up a notch. The girls are totally ready. I also love making the food for them.

Both girls are sitting on their own. They do still get a bit wobbly when they are excited. They are grabbing at everything and it's all going straight into their mouths.

We took the girls to Walmart and had their 6 month pictures taken. We were pretty impressed with Walmart's pictures. They were much better than we expected. We spent a fortune but it's SO worth it.

Here are some of our favorites.

I'm one hot mama

But not the way I'd like. I have been extremely sick the past few days. I started running a fever, sore throat and really run down. By Monday morning, I was running an extremely high fever. I topped out at 105.5. I couldn't even move. I just cried. Luckily my Mom had the day off and was able to come over and help with the girls for the first part of the day. Dusty was able to come home from work early too.

I went to the doctor and she was amazed by how sick I was. By the time I got in there, my fever was hovering at 103. My heart rate was 160 and my blood pressure was high. She said I was sicker than the average patient and she wanted me to come back the next day. I left with my scripts and went right home to bed.

I went back to the doctor yesterday for my follow-up. She could see some improvement but still classified me as one sick mama. She asked if Dusty was able to take time off work to help. I told her that he did stay home to help me. She offered to write him a sick note for work because I shouldn't be doing anything but resting and drinking lots of liquids.

I am feeling a bit better today. Dusty took today off work again to help. My throat still really hurts and I'm still exhausted. I don't have much energy. I really hope I'm back to normal tomorrow. I don't have time to be this sick!!

First Food!

We tried green beans on June 1st. The girls were not impressed! lol

I made them myself. I just steamed some green beans and then put them in the blender. I love making my own baby food, it's so easy and cheap!

The first picture is of Samantha. She hated it. She shut her mouth and wouldn't open it back up. She even started to push my hand away, as you can see in the picture.

Addison gave us some nasty faces but still opened her mouth for more!
